Lady Gaga hasn't always been the outrageous performer she is today, but everyone's got to start out somewhere...

Lady Gaga started her career playing nightly gigs in New York clubs, but her arty Haus of Gaga image came a lot later.  We came across this video of Gaga performing at The Bitter End in 2006, under the name of the Stefani Germanotta Band. 

She's still got that cheeky glint in her eye and her piano-playing is eccentric to say the least, but who would've guessed that she'd become the world's coolest pop chick?

We reckon Lady G looks a bit like a cross between a healthier Amy Winehouse and Peaches Geldof in her goth days.
