With Halloween just around the corner, it’s broomsticks at the ready as Petplan launch their nationwide hunt to find the perfect witch’s cat this Halloween. The search calls for black cat owners to submit their pet pictures to www.petraitgallery.co.uk and be in with a chance of being named official cat of the Wookey Hole Witch. So is your cat in with a chance? It might help if it has a talent, like this door-opening moggy:



Strict witchy criteria include having fur the perfect shade of black and an extra long tail for precision balancing on broomsticks. Piercing eyes to ward off enemies and a brave and independent disposition are also a must for potential winners. A full-of-beans kitty like this little chap should be in with a good chance:



An expert judging panel will handpick a shortlist of the top 13 felines on Friday 23 October (so get your skates on), and each cat will be tested on their witchy cat qualities. The winning cat’s portrait will take pride of place alongside the famous Wookey Hole Witch for Halloween later this month.
