What is the best thing about Saturday?
It’s a day off. You can go out on a Saturday 'cause you have Sunday to rest. We either stay in with a
DVD and lots of sweets or go out and have fun.
What make your different from other girl groups?
Our music is new and fresh – it doesn’t sound like anyone else. We’ve got five completely different people, five different personalities and hopefully we can bring something new to the table. We’re just five girls who like singing and dancing.
Frankie and Rochelle were in S Club Juniors, so how did you end up in The Saturdays?
Well, we're on the same label as S Club Juniors, so we heard about the opportunity there. While everyone thinks we got into the band because we were in S Club juniors we still had to prove ourselves.
Your debut single If This Is Love is out on Monday, are you nervous?
We’re really excited. We’ve working hard and its our first one, so we want to prove ourselves and say that 'we’re here!' We can’t wait to just get it out there and get some feedback as to what people think.
Do you think you'll do well?
Well, the radios are loving it, but you never know. We’re really proud of it and love it, but we were looking at the charts and thinking ‘how are we going to move Chris Brown’ and ‘will enough people know at the time to buy our album’. We're definitely optimistic though.
What are the rest of your songs like?
They’re all good pop tracks - there’s ballads, mid-tempo, up-tempo ones…we worked with Rihanna’s producers and they're mostly Uplifting, but not cheesy.
You posted a new song on your Myspace page called Lies. What's the biggest lie you've ever told?
Mollie: I was 16 and I wanted to get into this girl band and you had to be 18 to 25 to apply so I went through rounds and rounds of auditions and on the last one they said ‘ok, we’re really interested, so can we come and talk to your mum.’ I said ‘the only thing is I’m 16.’ But it’s ok, they said you can be like the Baby Spice.
Did you enjoy touring with Girls Aloud as their support act?
It was amazing. It was the best experience ever and we couldn’t have asked for a better chance to launch ourselves. A lot of their fans now like us too. We don’t want to steal their fans, but there’s room for both. Girls aloud were so nice to us as well.
How do you like to relax after gigs?
We like to have a long bath but if we’re on the road it can be difficult. We like to put on our iPods and chill out. Sometimes you need your own space in your head on tour.
