We know you couldn't imagine anyone else but the beautiful Robert Pattinson playing the broody Edward Cullen in Twilight but did you know there were three other applicants up for the job?

Catherine Hardwicke, the Twilight director, revealed at the Twilight Lexicon in Phoenix that Rob was up against three other hottie men for the role.

But what do you think of the competition...

Hardwicke said: "that the 4 finalists (who she called bachelor 1, 2, 3, 4) for the part of Edward Cullen were...

Obviously Robert Pattinson

Jackson Rathbone

Ben Barnes

and Shiloh Fernandez."

You might not of heard of Shiloh but watch out for him as she predicts he is going places! The last time we saw him was in Gossip Girl as Lily Rhodes boyfriend in the episode Valley Girls.

As we all know, Jackson did make it into the flick and as a member of the Cullen clan. But what do you think about the other boys? Would Ben or Shiloh made a better Ed?
