We caught up with Hadouken! to talk about tears, teddies and t-shirts
Dan, James, Chris, Nick and Alice come bounding in to the room with a spring in their step, they explain that they have been really busy but the cans of coca cola they seem to be downing are keeping them going!

And even though they are so busy they managed to take time out to talk to us and design trainers for you to win. Check out the competiton here
Would you describe your music as New Rave? Grindie? Electro jungle garage pie? Jungle curry?
James: The third one, Electro jungle garage pie! Because we are like a pie…
Dan: We are a tasty treat
Your music is high octane and you’ve even described it as ‘angry and aggressive’ do you have a sensitive side?
James: Yes, my left side (they all giggle – the cola is really kicking in now!)
Nick: We do have sensitive songs on our album, they are a couple of tear jerkers – they would certainly get an emo to sleep!
Tear Jerkers? When was the last time you cried?
Nick: Errrmmm… I once got something in my eye and it watered, does that count?
James: That’s a good answer, I was chopping onions last night and shed a tear! Oh no – I remember, I cried in a dream but I didn’t wake up crying. It’s becoming a tour habit of mine to have bad dreams
Chris: The thing is, as an adult, you can literally go years and years without crying.

OK so not many tears but when was the last time you held a teddy?
James: I bought Alice a bear for Christmas and he is called Sir Tedward Cuddleton, I don’t cuddle him though.
What would you do if you were given a ballad like Leona’s bleeding Love to remix? Reckon you would do a good job?
Nick: Yeah absolutely, it’s an amazing song. What would we do with it?
James: Well… it’s on the half step so we’d definitely go for a dub step tinge number and it will lend it self good to a 140 remix (ok the mix of cola and the confused look on our faces makes Hadouken all erupt with laughter at this point!)
Chris: No seriously, Bleeding love is written by Ryan Tedder from One Republic and I think it’s actually one of the best pop songs in the last couple of years.
What’s the guiltiest pleasure on your iPod?
James:I don’t really believe in the guilty pleasure thing. If you like something then you like it.
Dan:I like loads of un-cool stuff like Phil Collins but I don’t really feel guilty about it.
Alice: Probably loads I do like a good pop tune. I just was just trying to have a look but there’s nothing too embarrassing on there.
Who do you admire on the music scene at the moment?
Nick: Chris (giggles)
James:I think Timbaland actually, Justin Timberlake and Ryan Tedder, he’s just the best at the moment.

What’s your favourite word?
Alice: Troglodyte is a great word - it means a cave drawer. (???)
James:Yes or success.
Describe the best party you’ve ever been to?
Dan: We were talking about this the other day and I think the golden age of parties is when your 16-17. Before anyone can get into pubs and clubs, and people have nowhere else to go.
James:I have to say it’s the time when you’re old enough for the parents to leave you alone in the house. It’s not you and it was always a girl, her parents would go away and she would invite the whole town around to her house. Although these days those sort of parties are getting a bit out of control with the likes of Facebook and MySpace
What’s your favourite item of clothing?
James: I’ve got a great jockstrap. No don’t put that in please! My new one is sweat bands and headbands, I think they’re coming back in.
Alice: My favourite thing is my dressing gown really. It’s the most used and the most useful. I know it’s a bit boring. I’ve had the same one for six years.
Nick: My fashion is pretty simple, I usually just wear a t-shirt and then I have a jacket that I wear for about three months until it gets worn out. The current jacket is this one; in three months it will be another jacket.
Dan: I usually just a favourite band t-shirt, which is always black.
James, we know you hate glowsticks, is there anything else you would banish from the face of the earth if you could?
James: Can you help me out guys, what do I hate?
Alice: You’d choose particular people wouldn’t you? Although you shouldn’t say!
James: Diet Coke because it’s the drink of failure.

You’ll be at a lot of festivals this summer… which one you most looking forward to?
Nick: We should be in attendance of a few. We’re looking forward to doing Bestival, Electric Picnic and Rockness.
Alice: We’re hoping to do a few of the bigger main festivals but we can’t confirm them yet.
What is your latest single Declaration of War about?
James: It’s about a break-up and kinda bitter break-up that went horribly wrong. It was based on a few things, I had friends who went through horrible break-ups and I likened it to a war and conflict. It was quite a political thing so I used imagery of conflicts in the Middle East to portray the break-up metaphor.
Music For An Accelerated Culture will be released on May 5
