14-year-old Canadian actress Jodelle Ferland has been cast as Bree...

..., a newborn vampire who hunts in Seattle, in the third film in theTwilight Saga series, based on the best-selling books by Stephenie Meyer.

Jodelle announced her new role via Twitter on Wednesday. She wrote,

"Oh by the way, the secret that I told everybody about yesterday is now all over the web so I may as well say it. I'm going to be in Eclipse!"

She has previously starred in the 2006 horror film Silent Hill along with many other films and TV programmes such as Smallville.

It is reported that the cast, and new director David Slade (he directed horror film 30 Days of Night), will begin shooting Eclipse in Vancouver on August 17, and should finish on October 31. It could be released in cinemas as early as June 30, 2010 - woop!
