Leona may be a huge superstar, but she still cares about the cute little furry animals!

Animal rights group PeTA have awarded Leona with their coveted Person Of The Year Award for her active anti-cruelty stance.

Leona has been a vegetarian since the age of 12 and refuses to wear leather or fur  - she even turned down £1.5 million to open Harrods' summer sale, as it's the only UK department store that still stocks fur.

PeTA's Europe Director said: "Leona Lewis is admired for her beautiful voice, but it's her kindness to animals that make her a superstar in our book."  We couldn't agree more!

Following in the footsteps of last year's winner, Stella McCartney (who never uses fur or leather in her collections), Leona is looking to launch her own range of non-leather shoes.  We can't wait to try out Leona's guilt-free shoes - we're sure they'll be just as sweet and lovely as the girl herself - go Leona!
